As many beautiful fall days have passed here, I have been looking out from the inside. What I thought was just a virus turned out to be pneumonia. It has really hit me hard, and it's now going on five weeks. There have been small improvements (my fever is finally gone) but the cough and fatigue are hanging on longer than I would like. My GP said it would be about 4-6 weeks before I felt back to myself.....I'm just looking to feel strong enough to go outside or pick JT and Ella up from school. I am praying for patience and for faith to trust that God has a good plan in all of this (Rom 8:28!). I just feel so out of the loop and missing out on this beautiful fall weather (I can't remember the last rainy day we've had - very unusual for Scotland!), and all thats going on with Jim, the kids and friends. But just as this beautiful fall season will pass, we trust that so too will this illness.
Jim is taking the kids to the national museum and library today. He has been doing an amazing job taking care of everything I can't do, and I'm really thankful. We've also been so blessed by friends who have brought meals by and taken the kids for play dates. Ella, who has been having difficulty with "leaving mom" and going to school each day, had a really good week, and even enjoyed participating in the weekly school assembly on Friday!

And JT continues to enjoy school, although his favorite activity seems to be going out to play football (soccer) with his buddies after school. They play so often that their football 'field' in the yard has very little grass left, but plenty of dirt, which they don't mind at all. JT loves to play goalie as well as run the field passing and shooting, and I can't tell you how dirty he is every night when he comes in from playing. I wash his sneakers about once a week: I wish he would play in his wellies sometimes!
The kids made a name and emblem for their football team - BAU - Blacket Avenue United.
